Super Bowl Viewers Can See the <I>Signs</I>

Folks who tune in to Sunday's Super Bowl broadcast will get a sneak peek at writer-director M. Night Shyamalan's Signs.

The movie from the creator of The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable opens in theaters nationwide Aug. 2.

Touchstone Pictures will premiere a television spot for the film, which stars Academy Award winner Mel Gibson and Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix. The 30-second spot will also be available via satellite and on the Web at yahoo.com and the film's official Web site, signs.movies.com.

Also available in the satellite feed is one minute of bonus material, featuring Shyamalan discussing his film and the phenomenon of crop circles and giving his perspective into the fascination with crop formations, interspersed with images from the film.

Following are the satellite coordinates for the broadcast of the television spot and the bonus material: 8 to 8:15 p.m. ET; Telstar 5/ [c] 09; downlink frequency: 3880 Vertical; audio: 6.20/ 6.80.

Shyamalan's film takes moviegoers on a different journey as he explores one man's experiences with the unexplained. Gibson plays Graham Hess, a farmer who is thrust into a strange new world when he discovers a strange pattern of circles and lines carved into his crops.Phoenix plays Hess' brother Merrill, a former minor league baseball star. Rory Culkin and Abigail Breslin appear as Morgan and Bo Hess, Graham's children.

Shyamalan re-teams with producers Frank Marshall and Sam Mercer, and executive producer Kathleen Kennedy, and produces the project under his Blinding Edge Pictures banner along with Touchstone Pictures.
