Study: Many Will Watch the Super Bowl in HD29 Jan, 2008 By: Chris Tribbey
A study by Comcast shows more than half of men and more than 40% of women are going to make an effort to watch Sunday's Super Bowl game in high-definition.
The study, which sampled 662 adults who either own HDTVs or are interested in high-def, found that whether or not the game is in high-def will play a big part in how and where people watch it. A third of consumers (35%) who have high-def set-ups are planning on hosting a Super Bowl party, while 43% surveyed said a party somewhere else is more attractive if the game were being shown in high-def.
“Buying a new HDTV is like driving to the goal line, but to score the touchdown, you need the best high-definition service,” said Derek Harrar, SVP and GM of video services for Comcast.
