28 Oct, 2004 By: Holly J. Wagner

Parent companies of three major studios this week reported which titles have brought the most bounty for the third quarter.

Viacom reported that home video revenue was up, “principally from the Chappelle's Show DVD.”

MGM reported worldwide home entertainment unit shipments up 30 percent, with Walking Tall, Agent Cody Banks 2 and Barbershop 2 among the quarter's top-selling new releases. The Manchurian Candidate and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly were among the top-selling library titles.

At Sony, theatrical results from the hotly anticipated Spider-Man 2 led the parade, followed by video sales from Hellboy and 13 Going on 30. Sony also reported worldwide game unit shipments of 1.99 million units of PS2 and .60 million units of PS one consoles, plus software shipments of 56 million units for PS2 games and 3 million units of PS one games.
