Home entertainment studios Oct. 30 adopted new terminology — Digital HD and Digital — to refer to digital versions of filmed entertainment and television content across all consumer communication and packaging.
Comcast Oct. 30 reported a third-quarter (ended Sept. 30) drop of 129,000 video subscribers, ending the period with more than 21.6 million video members. The decline was 12,000 more than the 117,000 video subs lost during the previous-year period.
Technology company Rovi Corp. Oct. 30 reported a third-quarter loss of $11.5 million, on revenue of $143 million. That’s compared with a third-quarter 2012 loss of $13.3 million on revenue of $163.7 million.
Paris-based Technicolor saw its third-quarter revenue drop from €922 million ($1.26 billion) to €881 million ($1.2 billion), with revenue drops in the company’s technology, entertainment services and digital segments.
