Starlight Home Entertainment Forms Development and Acquisitions Arm30 Sep, 2002 By: Hive News
Independent distributor Starlight Home Entertainment has formed a new development and acquisitions department at its Los Angeles offices, said Matt Feinstein, president of the company. Feinstein also announced the promotion of former talent agent and media consultant Darren Capik to VP, acquisitions and development, to oversee the new area.
Seeing family and children's content as the next driving force ofhome entertainment, Feinstein said the goal of this department will be to develop and acquire high-quality original programming with a particular niche focus (i.e. kids, women, family, home & garden).
“Until now, our primary focus has been making the No. 1 cable-rated Lifetime Television original movies as popular at the retail level as they are on TV. Now it's time to expand and really stake out some turf in the home entertainment industry. Darren's going to be a tremendous facilitator of that goal,” Feinstein said.
Prior to joining Starlight, Capik was the West Coast head of Barry, Haft, Brown Artists Agency.
