Starlight Has Baby-Calming Title10 Jan, 2003 By: Jessica Wolf
Burgeoning distributor Starlight Home Entertainment is getting a boost into the baby video market from new promotional partner Graco Children's Products Inc.
Starlight recently acquired the video distribution rights to The Happiest Baby on the Block: The New Way to Calm Crying and Help Your Baby Sleep Longer, based on the bestselling book of the same name from Dr. Harvey Karp.
Karp has been a frequent guest on morning talk shows and a subject of national press for his “five S's” method for calming fussy babies.
The program, available on VHS and DVD March 18, features Karp describing and demonstrating his baby-calming techniques and answering questions for new parents like “What causes colic?” Celebrities such as Madonna, Michelle Pfeiffer and Pierce Brosnan have offered testimonials in numerous articles about the man some call the next Dr. Spock. Prior to the upcoming Starlight release, The Happiest Baby videos were only available for order online.
Graco Children's Products has signed on as a cross-promotional partner for the video release and will feature the title in advertising and with its new baby swing, which hits stores this spring. Special coupons for Graco products will be packaged into The Happiest Baby videos after Graco's new product launches, Starlight reps said.
Starlight Home Entertainment was founded two years ago and distributes videos of made-for-TV movies from cable channels such as Lifetime.
Other upcoming releases include Invisible Child, starring Rita Wilson and Victor Garber, Feb. 11.
