Starlight Home Entertainment has acquired the complete original-content library from cable specialty programmer Oxygen Media.
The deal starts with the Nov. 7 release of Girls Behaving Badly Vol. One, a two-disc set featuring 13 episodes of the syndicated prank comedy show. The second, third and fourth volumes will follow.
Starlight also will release a DVD set from the Oxygen Channel's top-rated show ever with the Feb. 6 release Mo'nique's Fat Chance.
The deal also includes the original movies Romancing the Bride, starring Laura Prepon, Carrie Fisher and Matt Cedeño, coming to DVD Jan. 9; and Nadine in Dateland, starring Janeane Garofalo and Swoozie Kurtz, Jan. 23.
Fans have been requesting DVDs of Oxygen shows, said Debby Beece, president of programming and marketing for Oxygen Media.
"Starlight should be able to give our strong lineup of titles the attention it deserves in stores, catalogs and with Internet retailers," she said.
Starlight has a marketing blitz planned for the titles, including in-store, print and radio marketing as well as viral campaigns on MySpace.com, YouTube.com and other video blogging and Internet portals.
"We are going to be extremely creative in working with out retail partners to highlight these titles," said Starlight president Matt Feinstein.
