Stan Lee, creator of the venerable Spider-Man and other Marvel Comics' legends, has reportedly partnered with The Walt Disney Co. to create exclusive digital content distributed online and via portable media devices such as Apple Inc.'s iPod.

Through his POW Entertainment production company, Lee will develop his latest creation, Time Jumper, into content for various digital channels, including the mobile phone, according to London-based Financial Times' Web site.

Jumper is about a teenager who travels through time using a mobile phone to fight global terrorists.

"Comics have always been a springboard for movies," Lee told the FT. "This deal means they can be a springboard for a new form of entertainment."

Lee said Time Jumper "is right up Disney's alley,” for young people but is something that older people will also enjoy. It lends itself to new types of media".

The deal reportedly will be announced July 25 at the Comic-Con confab in San Diego.

"Our focus is to not only help deliver the story, but also become an interactive part of telling the story of Time Jumper," said Paul Yanover, EVP and GM of Disney Online.

Other Lee projects included in the Disney deal: Nick Ratchet, a private detective; Blaze, an action adventure; and Tigress, a woman who develops tiger-like instincts.
