Paramount Home Entertainment is bolstering its hefty library of “South Park” DVD season sets with a new compilation of the Comedy Central series' best episodes in celebration of the 10th season of the show.
The $26.99 South Park: The Hits Vol. 1 streets Oct. 3, the day before a run of seven new episodes begins airing on the cable network.
Featured episodes include “Awesome-O,” “Casa Bonita,” “Good Times With Weapons,” “Red Hot Catholic Love,” “The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers,” “Scott Tenorman Must Die,” “Spoiled Whore Video Playset” and “Towlie.”
Stone and Parker also chose “Best Friends Forever,” the episode that won the Emmy for best animated program, and “Trapped in the Closet,” the infamous episode that lampoons Tom Cruise and Scientology.
Four bonus episodes were selected by fans: “Fatt Butt & Pancake Head,” “It Hits the Fan,” “Timmy 2000” and “The Death Camp of Intolerance,” featuring the first appearance of Lemmiwinks.
The DVD also will include for the first time ever the animated short “The Spirit of Christmas,” a brawl between Jesus and Santa that inspired the show.
