Sony, Warner Team Up

Two monsters of music have teamed up to roll out content for the digital space.

Sony BMG Music Entertainment and Warner/Chappell Music announced a licensing agreement this week for music publishing rights for products like DualDisc and digitally delivered offerings like mobile ring tones as well as video-on-demand and music video download services.

The agreement reflects the companies' commitment to “realize the full promise of the digital age,” said Ron Wilcox, EVP and chief business and legal affairs officer for Sony BMG.

“With this arrangement in place, we can accelerate the introduction of a wide range of products and services that deliver value to consumers and built a stronger and more dynamic marketplace for our artists and their music,” he said.

Sony BMG also recently announced it would take over distributing video product for Razor & Tie Entertainment. Previously, Sony handled distribution of Razor & Tie's audio products.
