Sony Pictures Ups Garra to New Asia Pacific Role9 Jun, 2008 By: Billy Gil
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has promoted Michele Garra to the newly created position of SVP, Asia Pacific.
Garra formerly served as managing director, Australia and New Zealand, and was based in Sydney. She will relocate to the company's home office in Culver City, Calif.
“Michele ran our very successful Australian operation for over a decade, and we are thrilled to offer her this opportunity to broaden her horizons and bolster SPHE's strong position across the Asian-Pacific market,” said Matt Brown, EVP, international, to whom she will report.
Garra has been with Sony for 16 years, helping launch DVD in 1998 and Blu-ray Disc in 2007 to Australia and New Zealand. She will now oversee all business functions in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India and Korea.
