Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) has promoted Matt Brown to EVP, international, and has hired Simon McDowell as SVP and GM, Europe, reporting to Brown.
Brown, who will be based in Los Angeles, will report to SPHE president David Bishop and will manage SPHE's international business, including determining the company's plans for growth overseas. He most recently served as EVP, Europe, for SPHE, and prior to joining SPHE was head of international home video for DreamWorks SKG.
“The home entertainment market is truly a global business with the international sector becoming as critical as our domestic area,” Bishop said. “Matt's extensive experience in the international home entertainment arena, and outstanding strategic skills, make him the ideal choice to help SPHE navigate the challenges of this new business environment.”
McDowell, who will be based in London, will oversee management of SPHE's European territories and will direct business plans for the region. McDowell previously spent 11 years at The Coca-Cola Co. in senior management and global marketing roles, serving in Europe, Asia, North America, and most recently as managing director for the Netherlands.
