Screenlife Bows 'American Idol' DVD Game9 Feb, 2006 By: Jessica Wolf
The company that kicked off the DVD board game craze has hitched up with the hottest TV ticket in town.
Screenlife LLC, creator of the SceneIt? Games announced Feb. 9 that this March the company will release a new game based on “American Idol,” in partnership with the top-rated TV show's production company/licensor FreemantleMedia.
The American Idol All Star Challenge DVD game will include real show clips, questions and performance challenges that send players the game board from through preliminary auditions, a Hollywood round and on to the finals — just like Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and others from the show's four-season run did on TV.
Throughout the game, players' “American Idol” knowledge is put to the test with trivia questions like "What group sang 'Sweet Home Alabama' with Bo Bice in Season 4?" and "What was Carrie Underwood's audition city?"
"Whether or not you're a fan of the show, the American Idol All-Star Challenge is a fun party game for all ages," said Screenlife founder and CEO, Dave Long. "It brings a pop culture phenomenon to your living room and transforms it into a highly interactive, entertaining experience."
