Screen Media Gets Four Films From Cinema Vault3 Sep, 2002 By: Hive Media
Screen Media Ventures LLC and Screen Media Films LLC announced today that they have acquired exclusive domestic rights to four star-packed films: Sidney Furie's Rock My World, starring Alicia Silverstone, Peter O'Toole and John Plowright; Sidney Furie's The Fraternity, starring Treat Williams and Robin Dunne; Sidney Furie's Under Heavy Fire, starring Casper Van Dien and Carrie Otis; and Bob Spier's Chilly Dogs, starring Leslie Nielsen, Skeet Ulrich and Natasha Henstridge.
Screen Media Ventures president Joseph Kovacs and Screen Media Films president Robert Baruc made the announcement.
The deal provides exclusive domestic home entertainment rights to Screen Media Films and domestic television rights to Screen Media Ventures. Negotiating the deal on behalf of Cinema Vault was president Nick Stiliades.
This move is part of Screen Media Film's initiative to acquire independent film product for its release pipeline. At the same time, Screen Media Ventures reinforces its leadership role in acquiring theatrical films in both domestic and international broadcast television.
Screen Media Ventures will release all of these titles to the U.S. pay television and syndication markets following the video release. The company has launched seven packages in the U.S. syndication market and plans to release two additional packages for the 2002/2003 broadcast year.
“Our broadcast partners have asked us to secure high-profile and high-budget titles such as these,” Kovacs said. “We are confident these releases will be very successful in both the home entertainment and television markets.”

Screen Media Films LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Screen Media Ventures LLC. Screen Media Ventures distributes feature films to networks and television stations both in the United States and in the international markets. Screen Media Ventures controls distribution rights to more than 425 feature films.
