18 Oct, 2007 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Adams Media Research (AMR), perennial supplier of home entertainment data and market analysis, has been acquired by London-based research firm Screen Digest Ltd., for an undisclosed amount of cash and Digest stock.

Tom Adams, former managing editor of Video Store Magazine, precursor to Home Media Magazine, founded Carmel, Calif.-based AMR 14 years ago.

Adams will continue as president of AMR and join the Screen Digest board. In turn, Allan Hardy, managing director of Digest and senior analyst Ben Keen will join AMR's board.

The merger will infuse additional resources into AMR, which the company plans to use to expand its research capabilities and staff of 7, according to Jan Saxon, VP, and senior film analyst with AMR.

The merger is slated to close by the end of the month.
