Research Firm Launches Digital Home Coverage31 Mar, 2008 By: Billy Gil
Spurred by findings that 65% of living rooms have PCs in them, JupiterResearch, which studies the impact of the Web and consumer technologies on business, has launched a digital home coverage area in its research.
JupiterResearch also found that 22% of homes have three or more PCs, with 6% watching video stored on their computers via their TV sets and 5% watching TV content stored on the PC via the TV set. The division's first report, “Digital Home: Moving Beyond the Concept of the Three Screens to Uncover New Revenue Opportunities,” is available to JupiterResearch clients at www.jupiterresearch.com.
“The growth of multiple screens represents both a new challenge and an opportunity for vendors and content companies,” said Michael Gartenberg, VP of JupiterResearch and lead analyst with the digital home team.
