Report: Jobs Won’t Be at Apple Annual Meeting23 Feb, 2009 By: Chris Tribbey
Bloomberg News reported Feb. 23 that Apple CEO Steve Jobs will not attend the company’s annual shareholder meeting Feb. 25.
Jobs, who turns 54 on the eve of the meeting, is a survivor of pancreatic cancer and took a leave of absence from the company in January, after months of speculation about his health. At the time he told employees in an e-mail that his health issues were “more complex than originally thought.”
Shares of Apple were down nearly 5% to less than $87 Feb. 23.
