Redbox Stretches in Columbus and Phoenix

13 Nov, 2007 By: Chris Tribbey

McDonald's Corp.'s Redbox DVD rental kiosk service has expanded into Walgreens in Columbus, Ohio; and Phoenix, the company said.

Redbox kiosks are now set up in 33 stores in the Columbus area and in 160 stores in the Phoenix area. The expansion comes following a successful test of the kiosks in the Chicago and Houston areas.

“Redbox continues to gain momentum in the marketplace as we offer consumers a quick, convenient way to rent new release titles at their favorite retail locations,” said Redbox CEO Gregg Kaplan.

The additions bring Redbox's nationwide total kiosk number to more than 5,000.
