Redbox Reports Higher Q3 Profit on Lower Revenue

Redbox Oct. 29 reported third-quarter (ended Sept. 30) operating income of $90.4 million, which was 2.4% higher than operating income of $88.3 million during the previous-year period. Revenue declined about 10% to $395.4 million, from $435.1 million a year ago.

Sony Pictures Q2 Loss Widens

Sony Pictures, which includes Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Oct. 29 reported a second-quarter (ended Sept. 30) operating loss of $187 million, compared with an operating loss of $8.2 million during the prior-year period. Revenue decreased 14% (up 0.9% on a Yen basis) to $1.5 billion.
