25 Jun, 2007 By: Chris Tribbey

Redbox has recently placed its 4,000th DVD rental kiosk in the market, doubling its nationwide presence since the start of year, and outpacing its closest grocery store competitor by 30%.

Redbox now has its kiosks in more than 2,600 grocery stores and more than 1,400 McDonald's restaurants, making it among the top four DVD rental companies in the country by revenue, according to the company.

“We expect our growth to continue at this aggressive pace through 2007 and beyond,” said Gregg Kaplan, Redbox CEO.
