Outerwall CFO: Redbox Instant 'Unlikely' to Turn Profit This Year

Galen Smith, CFO of Redbox parent Outerwall, said that a year into the consumer launch of Redbox Instant, it’s “unlikely” the hybrid disc-streaming service the company co-owns with Verizon to turn a profit this year.

I, Frankenstein 'I, Frankenstein' Tops Disc Sales, Ending Reign of 'Frozen'

'Frozen’s' streak atop the home video sales charts came to an end the week ended May 18, as Lionsgate’s 'I, Frankenstein' emerged to top both the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks overall DVD and Blu-ray Disc combined sales, as well as its dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart.
