Redbox Certified by Payment Security Group29 May, 2008 By: Chris Tribbey
DVD rental kiosk operator Redbox has been certified by the Payment Card Industry (PCI), which determines security standards for payment account data.
The PCI conducted an audit of Redbox's more than 7,700 machines to determine if they met the group's standards.
“Safeguarding our consumers is a top priority for Redbox, and we have worked diligently to confirm compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard to underscore this commitment,” said Redbox CEO Gregg Kaplan. “Our technology is designed to protect the privacy of our customers' data before, during and after their visit to our kiosks.”
