'Reader's Digest' Links With Fox, Peace Arch on Family Line

Reader's Digest Association, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and Peace Arch Entertainment recently unveiled Reader's Digest Family Films.

The first film produced and released under the new brand will be Ace of Hearts, a full-length feature film based on a true story published in Reader's Digest in 2000 about a law-enforcement officer and his crime-fighting dog. The film stars Dean Cain (“Lois and Clark”) and is scheduled for release in early 2008.

Under the new brand, Peace Arch Entertainment will produce the film in association with Bogner Entertainment Inc., and will distribute the film internationally. Fox will market and distribute the film domestically. Reader's Digest Association will provide magazine, direct marketing and online promotion.

Eva Dillon, president of RD Inspiration and group publisher of Reader's Digest, expressed excitement over working with a team of respected entertainment partners.

“We look forward to building Reader's Digest Family Films into a leading producer of family entertainment through a series of quality movies and programs based on our library of highly popular stories,” she said.
