“Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” will make its first-ever DVD appearance this summer through a new deal between the Bravo cable network and Genius Products.Genius, a San Diego-based budget video supplier, will distribute the series through its Branded Distribution Network.
First up: Queer Eye for the Red Sox, the first show from the current season, which will be in stores June 21, two weeks after the season's June 7 premiere on Bravo.Queer Eye for the Red Sox ($19.98) brings the five makeover specialists to the ballpark to transform five members of the Boston Red Sox.
Also in the pipeline are four two-hour, two-disc compilations drawn from the series' first season, each priced at $24.98 individually or as an eight-disc boxed set retailing for $59.98.
Carson's Style, focusing on makeovers engineered by Carson Kressley, and Kyan and Jai … Looking Good, centered on Kyan Douglas and Jai Rodriguez, are due June 21.
Ted's Food and Wine, with cooking and entertaining advice from Ted Allen, and Thom's Home, featuring the best of designer Thom Filicia's work, follow July 26, as does the “Best of the Fab Five” boxed set.
Each of the four compilations includes outtakes, photo galleries and other extras.
