‘The Punisher' Pounces to DVD

Lions Gate Home Entertainment will bring a popular Marvel Comics character to home video with The Punisher.

Grossing $33.4 million at the box office, the action film streets Sept. 7 (prebook Aug. 10) on DVD at $27.98 and rental-priced VHS.

The comic book-based film follows a man determined to drive away crime after losing his family to murder.

The bonus material includes the “making-of” featurette “War Journal: On the Set of The Punisher”; “Army of One,” which outlines the character's history in comic books and includes an interview with comic writer Garth Ennis; “Drawing Blood,” an interview with artist Tim Bradstreet with a showcase of his art for The Punisher; and “Keepin' It Real,” an in-depth look at the film's stunt work. The DVD, presented in widescreen, will also feature deleted scenes.
