Prange Named Editor In Chief of 'HMR'

Stephanie Prange has been appointed editor in chief of Home Media Retailing, replacing Kurt Indvik, who has accepted a position with an Internet marketing firm.

Prange has been editor of Home Media Retailing magazine for a year and previously served as executive editor since 2000.

The Yale graduate joined what was then Video Store Magazine in 1993 and was instrumental in transitioning the publication into a tabloid newsweekly. She also played a key role in the 1994 launch of Video Store Magazine's convention show dailies, and spearheaded the publication's aggressive coverage of sellthrough and, later, DVD.

“Stephanie Prange is truly one of the deans of home entertainment journalism, and her appointment as editor in chief underscores our company's commitment and belief in the home entertainment business,” said Don Rosenberg, HMR publisher and group VP and general manager of the publication's corporate parent, Questex Media Group.

“I've worked closely with Stephanie for more than 12 years and have always been impressed with her journalistic abilities as well as her leadership qualities and people skills,” added Thomas K.
