The recently launched PorchLight Home Entertainment (PHE) is stepping up its game.
The Los Angeles-based distributor, which launched in early 2007, has acquired U.S. DVD distribution rights for the “FARMkids” television series from FARMkids Pty Ltd., seven titles from The Trevor Romain Co. and “The Little Playdates” DVD series from The Little Playdates Co. Titles are expected in 2008.
“We are very excited to announce the furthering of our relationship with FARMkids — which we also represent for distribution and licensing worldwide, with the exception of Australia — and our newly established relationships with The Trevor Romain Co. and The Little Playdates Co.,” said Brenda Bisner, VP of acquisitions, children's programming, for PorchLight Entertainment. “As a premier producer and distributor of quality children's entertainment, PorchLight looks for the type of innovative, award-winning children's and family programming produced by companies like these.”
“FARMkids,” a series about city-slicker farm animals relocated from a zoo, is produced by a privately funded independent animation studio in Brisbane, Australia. “The Little Playdates” is produced by a husband-and-wife team for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers to teach positive social behaviors and child-to-child interaction.
The titles acquired from children's advocate and entertainer Trevor Romain are: Taking The “Duh” Out Of Divorce, Bullies Are A Pain In The Brain, Facing Fear Without Freaking Out, How To Do Homework Without Throwing Up, If You Don't Take Care Of Your Body, Where Else Are You Going To Live?, What On Earth Do You Do When Someone Dies? and Cliques, Phonies And Other Baloney.
