Plexifilm Inks Deal With Caroline Distribution for Music Titles27 Apr, 2005 By: Jessica Wolf
Music distributor Caroline Distribution is getting into the music DVD business, taking over distribution for current and future product from Brooklyn, N.Y.-based indie supplier Plexifilm.
In announcing the deal, which goes into effect May 1, Michael Bull, VP of label relations for Caroline, said the company was just waiting for the right partner to get into DVD.
“With Plexifilm's interest in music, impeccably high standards in all areas, and eye for the intriguing and offbeat across the visual media spectrum, we knew they were the one,” he said.
Plexifilm product, previously handled by Ryko Distribution, includes Sam Jones' documentary on Wilco I am Trying to Break Your Heart. Coming up from Plexifilm is Moog, a documentary on the modern synthesizer and Made in Sheffield, a film about the music scene in the Northern England city, which profiles bands like The Human League, Heaven 17, Cabaret, Voltaire and ABC.
