Plenty of Grammy Noms on Music DVD Racks

The 46th Annual Grammy nominations were handed out this week, and there are plenty of contenders in the mix who have music video product on the shelves.

Coldplay is up for record of the year for “Clocks” and recently released Coldplay Live 2003 on DVD from EMI Distribution. Coldplay's “The Scientist” was also nominated for best short form music video.

Eminem's star vehicle 8 Mile from Universal Studios Home Video is a natural fit to tie into his record-of-the-year nomination for “Lose Yourself.”

OutKast's first DVD hit stores this week, featuring the group's Grammy-nominated video for “Hey Ya!” also up for record of the year. OutKast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is also up for the top album award. The Black Eyed Peas and Justin Timberlake received a record-of-the-year nom for “Where is the Love?” Justified, Timberlake's album of the year contender, has a companion DVD release, Justified: The Videos, from BMG Distribution. Timberlake is also up for best male pop vocal performance for “Cry Me a River,” which is included on the Justified DVD.

Missy Elliott, nominated for Under Construction, has The Hits of Miss E … The Videos Vol. 1 available from Warner Music Group.

In the song of the year category, pixie-like rocker Avril Lavigne is up for her song “I'm With You,” which is featured on her My World DVD from Fox Home Entertainment. Lavigne was also nominated for best female pop vocal performance for the same song. Eminem's “Lose Yourself” from 8 Mile was also nominated for song of the year. Warren Zevon and Jorge Calderon are up for song of the year for “Keep Me in Your Heart.” The late singer's DVD InsideOut: Warren Zevon: Keep Me in Your Heart, streeted last week from Artemis Records.

50 Cent, who's been tearing up the music DVD charts all year with New Breed from Universal Music, is nominated for best new artist. Pop legend Sting is up for best male pop vocal performance for “Send Your Love” from his Sacred Love album. Sting's DVD Inside the Songs of Sacred Love is available from Universal Music.

“American Idol” champ Kelly Clarkson was nominated in the best female pop vocal performance category for “Miss Independent” on the Thankful album. Her Miss Independent DVD streeted last month from BMG Distribution.
