Peach Arch Goes kaBOOM!

Canadian production company Peach Arch Entertainment has acquired kaBOOM! Entertainment Inc., a leading independent home entertainment studio in the country for approximately $7.4 million (U.S.).

Peace Arch also signed a long-term employment agreement with Berry Meyerowitz who will continue to run kaBOOM!'s home entertainment operations.

The deal creates an in-house distribution arm for home video releases of Peach Arch's motion picture and television productions.

Peach Arch is based in Toronto with divisions in Vancouver, Los Angeles and London. Since 2005 the company has produced seven new features, including four titles for a new genre label Archetype Films, and mainstream features like Delirious, starring Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt, Alison Lohman and Gina Gershon; and Chapter 27, starring Jared Leto and Lindsay Lohan.

KaBOOM! distributes rental and sellthrough titles in Canada and is partnered with content suppliers Maple Pictures, Sony Wonder, First Look Studios, DIC Entertainment, Sesame Workshop and others.
