Peace Arch, Allumination in DVD Op Merger

24 Jun, 2008 By: Chris Tribbey

Peach Arch Home Entertainment and Allumination Filmworks will merge their DVD operations, operating under the former's banner beginning July 1.

Peach Arch's parent, London-based ContentFilm, said the deal is structured to allow both companies to retain ownership of their existing catalogs, and will cut the companies' combined overhead by 30%.

“This merger will create one of the leading independent home entertainment companies in the U.S. and will add significant scale to Peace Arch's worldwide distribution capabilities,” said Peace Arch CEO Jeff Sagansky.

ContentFilm CEO John Schmidt added, “The merger is an extremely positive opportunity for both companies. The growth achieved by Peace Arch over the last few years is a testament to the strength of its home entertainment division, and we look forward to combining with Berry [Meyerowitz, Peace Arch Home Entertainment president] and his team to make our jointly owned operation a thriving success.”

Allumination's center in South Carolina will be used for all United States distribution.
