PBS and WGBH Boston Combine Video Divisions20 Sep, 2007 By: Chris Tribbey
PBS and WGBH Boston have joined forces on the home video front.
The two companies will combine their video distribution departments into one service effective immediately. The venture will be managed by executives from both companies, and will also incorporate digital delivery and international licensing duties for both companies.
Content and programming decisions will continue to be made by the respective companies' production and broadcast departments.
“By combining the scale and expertise of two successful distributors, we will be positioned to capitalize on public television's investment in programming, and increase our capacity and library available for future, alternative distribution methods,” said David Bernstein, WGBH VP and GM.
