21 Aug, 2006 By: Thomas K. Arnold

Paramount Home Entertainment Monday announced its first wave of four Blu-ray Disc titles will arrive in stores Sept. 26, followed by a second wave of four titles coming Oct. 10.

The first wave consists of Lara Croft Tomb Raider, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Four Brothers and Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow. The second wave includes Sahara, U2: Rattle & Hum, Aeon Flux and The Italian Job.

All titles retail for $29.99. The eight newly announced releases join Mission: Impossible III, which Paramount had previously slotted for Oct. 30 release.

Earlier, Paramount had announced a slate of 10 titles bound for HD DVD, the rival next-generation, high-definition optical disc format.

Paramount is one of only two studios supporting both formats. Warner Home Video also is releasing titles on both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD.
