Paramount Home Entertainment is in a deal with Hasbro, Inc. to distribute G.I. Joe: Valor Vs. Venom, a new full-length animated movie featuring the characters that have made the G.I. Joe Vs. Cobra saga a staple over the past two decades.

The title is due this fall on DVD and VHS and the storyline will support Hasbro's 2004 G.I. Joe Vs. Cobra product line.

“When the G.I. Joe animated series was first introduced more than 20 years ago, it revolutionized children's animation by giving kids an ongoing saga with a compelling fantasy and cast of characters,” said Thomas Lesinski, president, Paramount Pictures, Worldwide Home Entertainment. “We are excited to be able to help continue the legend of G.I. Joe through an action-packed movie that is sure to captivate fans of all ages.”

The Hasbro Properties Group, will support the DVD and VHS release with a wide variety of consumer products.

“We think Valor Vs. Venom is one of the most thrilling storylines that we have ever created for the real American hero,” said Greg Leeds, GM of Hasbro's boys toys division. “Paramount is a leader in home entertainment and an excellent choice to help us deliver the next chapter in the struggle between G.I. Joe and Cobra.”

Dallas-based Reel FX Creative Studios is the producer for the movie. Reel FX is known for its work on Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams for Miramax and Saving Jessica Lynch for NBC. Will Meugniot, one of the creative minds behind the original “G.I. Joe VS. Cobra” animated television series, is the project's executive producer.
