Panasonic Corporation of North America unveiled the DMP-BD50 Blu-ray Disc player at the Consumer Electronics Show.
The DMP-BD50 offers 1080p playback, lossless audio and picture-in-picture compatibility, as well as the BD-Live, which uses the Internet to open an array of functions for the consumer.
BD-Live will allow users to download images and subtitles and join multiplayer interactive games linked to bonus materials on Blu-ray discs.
The DMP-BD50 also includes an SD memory card slot for transferring images from a camera. The player employs Viera Link, which lets users operate specially equipped home theater components with a single remote.
