The Paley Center for Media (formerly The Museum of Television & Radio) and SnagFilms are teaming to up efforts to increase visibility of documentary films.
The Paley Center hosts various events such as the annual PaleyDocFest in New York, where documentary filmmakers can commune and participate in screenings and seminars; SnagFilms is an Internet documentary-delivery platform with such features as widgets and links to charities and communities associated with various documentaries. The two will work together to raise awareness of new distribution outlets for documentaries that lack traditional outlets, such as theatrical or DVD release.
“Our relationship with SnagFilms is particularly exciting since they are on the cutting edge of bridging the divide between filmmakers and fans worldwide, who have an appetite for high-quality documentaries but have very limited access through theaters and television,” said Pat Mitchell, president and CEO of The Paley Center for Media.
