Noms Open for VSDA Retailer of the Year

19 Feb, 2003 By: Kurt Indvik

Nominations are open for the Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA) 2003 Retailer of the Year awards. The awards are given each year during the VSDA's annual convention, this year slated for July 15 to 17 in Las Vegas.

The VSDA has added a new category for single-store operators for the 2003 awards, and redefined existing categories.

Categories open for nomination for 2003 awards are: Independent Video Store (single-store operations); Small Chain Video Stores (2-5 stores); Midsized Video Store Chain (6-50 stores); Large Video Store Chain (50 or more stores); and International Retailer (non-U.S. video stores.)

Nominees must be VSDA members and will be evaluated based on business practices, operational policies, marketing and merchandising programs, customer service and involvement in VSDA. A selection committee of video retailers and distributors will choose the winners.

2002 award winners were: Independent or Small Chain Video Store (1-5 stores), First Run Video, Brattleboro, Vt.; Midsized Video Store Chain (6-20 stores), Bradley Video, Petaluma, Calif.; Large Video Store Chain (21 or more stores), Rogers Video, Richmond, B.C.; Canadian Retailer of the Year, Video 2000, Niagara Falls, Ontario.
