Nominations Open for VSDA Board Seats28 Jan, 2002 By: Kurt Indvik
The VSDA will begin the nomination process to fill two seats on its board of directors beginning Feb. 1, with all nominations due to the VSDA on or before April 1. Terms for each seat will be three years beginning July 2002.
The terms of John Merchant, 49er Video; Terri Schumacher, Video Village; and Bob Webb, Video Revue will be expiring with the election to take place this summer prior to the association's annual meeting July 16 to 18 in Las Vegas. Only two of the three seats will be filled, according to the VSDA, after the current board voted to change the bylaws to reduce the number of board members from 20 to 18.
Candidates for election must be regular members (retailers or distributors) in good standing of the association and submit no fewer than 10 signed, typed letters of nomination on letterhead from other members of good standing in the association. Complete election rules and instructions are available from the association's web site www.vsda.org or by contacting Sean Bersell, VP of public affairs, at (818) 385-1500, ext. 226.
Ballots will be mailed to all members by May 15. Completed ballots must be received by the VSDA by no later than June 17. The newly elected board members will be announced prior to the VSDA convention.
