Nielsen July 25 said it would begin tracking ratings measurements for Hulu Live TV and Google-owned YouTube TV, underscoring the growing influence online TV has on the traditional broadcast ecosystem.

Half-Year U.K. Entertainment Revenue Up 6.4%

Revenue from physical and digital sales and streaming of movies, TV shows, music and video games in the United Kingdom increased 6.4% through the first six months of the year to £2.98 billion ($3.8 billion), up £180m ($234 million) from the previous-year period, according to new data from the Entertainment Retailers Association. The segment grew 3% during the same period a year ago.

Bounce TV Launching 'Brown Sugar' Streaming Video Service

The market for over-the-top video services targeting African-American viewers has doubled in size. Bounce TV July 24 announced the launch of Brown Sugar, a subscription-video-on-demand service claiming to feature the biggest collection of “baddest African-American movies” of all-time.
