The New York City Ballet has filed suit against Palm Pictures over revenues generated from several workout DVDs released by the company.
The titles, New York City Ballet Workout, were released in 2001 and 2003, and paired as a two-disc set in 2006. According to The Associated Press, the New York City Ballet says in its suit that it has not received royalties from sales of the DVDs since June 2005. According to the suit, the ballet company is asking for $600,000 it says it's owed, and wants out of its licensing agreement with Palm Pictures, the AP reported.The suit says the ballet is owed half of all net revenues from sales of the DVDs, the AP reported.
A message left for a Palm Pictures spokesperson was not returned in time for publication.
