SAN DIEGO — In the tradition of the “Lord of the Rings” extended editions comes the rumored extended cut of Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong remake.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment's King Kong: Deluxe Extended Edition streets Nov. 14.

The ape-meets-girl story returns in this new three-DVD set that includes four hours of extras, including outtakes, new interviews, artwork, visual effects featurettes and a commentary track. Also included are more than an hour of deleted scenes that can be viewed as part of the film using a branching feature.

There also will be a gift set that includes a collectible specially created by WETA, the SFX house that worked on the film.

A segment of the new cut makes its Comic-Con debut today.
