Netflix Promo Is In the Cups

Netflix is raising a glass to California winery Talus Cellars as the two companies partner to in a marketing effort linking wining and dining with DVD.

The companies have formed a two-year partnership to encourage people to "Wine, Dine and DVD," by offering a two-week trial membership to Netflix when the purchase of a bottle of Talus wines.

“We are very pleased to work with Talus on the 'Wine, Dine and DVD' program," said Leslie Kilgore, VP of marketing at Netflix. "By providing Netflix an in-store presence at thousands of retail grocery and specialty stores nationwide, Talus is helping introduce our popular online rental service to millions of potential customers who already appreciate the joys of a relaxing evening at home.”

Talus produces varietals including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Zinfandel from coastal and valley appellations of California. The co-branding effort helps the vintner extend its identity with a home entertainment audience.

“We know our consumers are looking for new ways to entertain and enjoy life," said Don Enos, brand manager for Talus. "We hope this exciting partnership will encourage people to open a bottle of Talus with dinner and enjoy a movie from Netflix – with friends, family or that special someone.
