Netflix Names Anna Lee Head of Supply Chain15 Apr, 2008 By: Thomas K. Arnold
Home entertainment industry veteran Anna Lee has joined Netflix as head of supply chain development and replication. Lee joins the online movie rental service April 21. She will report to Netflix's chief content officer, Ted Sarandos, who praised her “experience and technical expertise in the world of physical and digital media.”
Lee comes to Netflix from Sonopress, the world's No. 2 replicator of optical discs and a division of global media conglomerate Bertelsmann AG.
In her new role, Lee will be responsible for managing the integration of Netflix's key content supplier relationships — including studios, replicators and third-party service providers — and for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the company's supply chain.
She also will support the implementation of Netflix's Blu-ray Disc program.
At Sonopress, which she joined in Los Angeles in 2004, Lee was SVP of global video markets, charged with establishing and expanding relationships with studios seeking replication as well as leading technology development, quality control, facility performance and supply chain management.
Before joining Sonopress, Lee was VP of video acquisition and new product development for Bertelsmann Direct Group, which she joined in 1998. She was responsible for sourcing and merchandising the company's direct offerings in the video, music and merchandise product segments.
Previously, Lee held product sourcing and buying positions at Time-Warner and Sony Music.
