NBC to Launch Comedy SVOD Service

NBC Universal Oct. 15 unveiled plans to launch a $3.99 monthly comedy subscription streaming service called “Seeso.” The service will feature original, exclusive and classic content, including stand-up, late night and shows such as “30 Rock” and “The Office.”

The Entertainment Merchants Association Oct. 14 presented “The Divergent Series,” Amazon, HBO Now and Craig Seidel of MovieLabs with “Digi” Awards for outstanding achievement in digital entertainment content, retailing, innovation and leadership. The awards were presented at EMA’s Digital Media Pipeline, held at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
