NARM Explores CD/DVD Combo

11 Mar, 2004 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Designed to keep the lines of communication open between suppliers and retailers, the National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) has established a dual-disc task force that will explore how and where retailers can best market the CD/DVD combo format, which is currently undergoing test marketing by all of the major labels, including BMG, EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner Bros.

In a related matter, former NARM EVP Jim Donio has been promoted to the position of acting president. Donio had been overseeing the day-to-day operations of NARM since the departure of former president Pam Horovitz last summer.
