MTV, VH1 Get Tickets — Movie Tickets, That Is23 Nov, 2004 By: Brendan Howard
Adding movies to the mix, VH1.com will launch www.vh1.com/movies Dec. 7, with thousands of Web pages of information on films — past and present — as well as the ability for users to buy movie tickets online through a new agreement with MovieTickets.com.
MTV.com, which is also owned by MTV Networks, already is selling tickets online, thanks to the deal with MovieTickets.com. MovieTickets.com already has a large list of affiliate clients: AOL Moviefone, MSN, Earthlink, Movies.com, NYTimes.com, the Excite Network, Lycos and more.
New content on VH1.com's movie site will include the usual smorgasbord of film-fan-friendly content: trailers, clips, photos, synopses, cast and crew listings, interviews, reviews, production details, box office tallies and Hollywood production news. The site will also sell movie-related product through http://shop.vh1.com, and there will be two VH1.com online radio stations devoted to movie music and scores.
