Dan Glickman, chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), makes his first trip to the Video Software Dealers Association's convention and will speak at July's event.
Glickman will deliver a keynote address Tuesday, July 11, at 9 a.m. at VSDA's Home Entertainment 2006, which marks the confab's 25th Anniversary.
"At a time of transition for the movie business — with the launch of next-generation DVDs, the growth of digital motion picture projection and the incipiency of digital delivery — Dan has a leadership seat at the table and his finger on the pulse of the industry,” said VSDA President Bo Andersen. “His insight into the future of the movie business is a treasure to be shared with our members and guests."
Prior to joining the MPAA in 2004, where he's been vocal about global piracy, Glickman served as Secretary of Agriculture from March 1995 to January 2001. Before his appointment to President Clinton's cabinet, Glickman served in the United States House of Representatives for 18 years as the Representative for Kansas' 4th Congressional District.
