MovieBeam Adds Magnolia

13 Jun, 2006 By: Jessica Wolf

Video-on-demand provider MovieBeam is adding films from Magnolia Entertainment to its growing roster.

Steven Soderbergh's Bubble and the Oscar-nominated Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room are now available to MovieBeam set-top owners via the company's datacasting system, in either standard- or high-definition.

“Our customers across the country are movie-lovers who enjoy a wide variety of genres, and we program our service to provide the greatest depth and breadth of selection,” said Brent Jenkins, MovieBeam VP of programming. “Adding movies from Magnolia Pictures helps us meet this objective and enhances the MovieBeam experience.”

It's MovieBeam's ease of use that drew Magnolia, said Eamonn Bowles, company president.

“Our goal is to make our movies as easily accessible as possible for film buffs and distributing pictures via MovieBeam is a great way to do that.”

Earlier this year, the supplier made headlines by offering Bubble across DVD, cable TV and theatrical platforms simultaneously.

MovieBeam offers users a cache of instantly accessible 100 movies at all times, rotating in up to 10 new titles weekly.
