Movie Gallery Lost $38.9M in Q1 2008

Movie Gallery Inc. reported a net loss of $38.9 million on revenue of $555 million for the period from Jan. 6, 2008 to April 6, 2008 — the last quarterly period before it emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection May 20, according to Jan. 8, 2009 filing.

Analyst Projects Movie Income Surge at News Corp.

Spurred by favorable theatrical (and likely Blu-ray and catalog DVD) releases through the end of fiscal 2009 (ending June 30), Pali Capital analyst Rich Greenfield said 20th Century Fox Studios would realize $823 million in operating income, up $58 million from a previous estimate.
