Movie Gallery Climbs <I>Forbes'</I> Corporate Ladder

Movie Gallery, Inc. has moved up to No. 50 in Forbes magazine's annual listing of the 200 Best Small Companies in America.Movie Gallery was first included in the list in 2001, with a ranking of 193. The Forbes list is compiled from an analysis of public companies with revenues between $5 million and $600 million, with rankings determined by various measures of profitability, growth and stock price strength.

We believe both our historic growth and our prospects for continued growth spring from our strengthening position as the leading video specialty retailer in North America's rural and small markets,” said Movie Gallery chairman and CEO Joe Malugen. “Through the successful, profitable expansion, which our Forbes ranking reflects, we are progressing toward our goal of being one of the leading providers of entertainment in these core markets."

Movie Gallery owns and operates 1,678 video specialty stores in 42 states and five Canadian provinces.
